Is it cheaper to rehab or to tear down and rebuild?
Depends on what is wrong. If the structure, roof and foundation are sound and the problems are
finishes and mechanicals, rehab usually wins. Once you are replacing the roof structure, the wiring,
the plumbing, the windows and the layout all at once, the math starts to favor a
rebuild. We will run both numbers for you.
Can I live in the house during the work?
For a single room, usually yes. For a gut rehab with the power and water off, no. We will tell you
which one you are looking at up front so you can plan.
Do you handle lead paint and asbestos?
Pre-1978 houses are assumed to have lead paint and are handled under lead-safe work practices.
Asbestos abatement is performed by a licensed abatement contractor — we coordinate it and build the
cost into the schedule rather than surprising you with it mid-job.
Do you work with insurance claims?
Yes. We can write a scope against an adjuster's estimate and document the work as it goes. Your
settlement is between you and your carrier, but we will give you what you need to support it.
